Just been quoted £70 to have a bitch scanned to see if shes having puppies, god its gone up a lot, the last time i had this done 3 years ago it was only £25, do you think this is a bit much or is this the going rate now ?

Seems a huge amount to me :-( Can't remember, but ... I think last year for a scan at my vet was £35.

I was quoted £30 at my vets , and my friend was quoted £69 at theirs ... they are only 2 miles apart and both have new 'state of the art' scanners ( so they say !!!! )

last time I had a bitch scanned it was from Keith Shea and cost me £30 for him to come to me.

I've just had it done for £50, which is higher than last time about a year ago :-( but, I needed it doing as I could then pay the stud fee...and I know that she's expecting 4-5 pups, which is great.  If I'd paid the fee up front or using my own dog I prob wouldn't have it done now it's that price..and just see what happens partic with the bigger dogs, with the smaller ones it's useful to know if there's lots or just one or two (may need c-section if a few big pups!)
- By LouiseDDB [gb] Date 24.02.11 14:02 UTC
in 2007 it was £48

Thanks everyone for your help i am  going to get her scanned regardless of cost, it was interesting to find out how the price varies from different vets, thanks.
