Hello all, could you please give me some inspiration I need to put a few fundraisers on for a small dog club and have gone blank, all I can think of is a comp show but what sideline can I offer to bring in the hoards?

Make it a family fun day face painting for the kids, maybe a painting competition with entries displayed on day and prizes presented then.
How much room do you have maybe a bouncy castle?

If you know anybody owns a field then how about a car boot sale?
I did a charity walk fo the British Heart Foundation a good few years ago (some lovely and still current champdoggers kindly sponsored me :-) ) and I ahd a mammoth task of raising £1500!
I did a quiz night. The local school lent me the hall for free. I charged per person max teams of 8. We had a raffle etc. I raised about £900!!! It was amazing!
I also did a sponsored walk, a stall at the local school fete which I raised about £200 I think.

If you are doing a comp show don't forget a raffle and a tombola. start asking people NOW for any 'oh how kind - (what the **** do I do with it) presents they had at Christmas.
We used to do a show every sept and got to the stage where people would bring stuff to class in jan/feb - ready for the next show. We took as much or more than in entry fees.

You could maybe get a local club to do a display for you. Our agiltiy club does several displays for various local events throughout the summer - we don't charge but just enjoy the opportunity to help raise funds for the organisers.
We usually have a "Have a Go" event charged at £1 a try - usually very popular, or run a "scurry" again charging £1 a run and this helps to swell the coffers for the event :-)

raffle a Gnome they are very popular with kids ATM

At my training club. I make & sell tablet each week, this is a great fundraiser. Last year we had a photo competition, a bottle raffle,I have in the past done a sponsored diet! we do a small raffle every five weeks. at the end of last year we gave £1500.00 to charity.

avoid the bouncy castle, it's too much of a nightmare if anyone gets hurt--I know that sounds pathetic, but your insurance will go through the roof for this.
what about a fancy dress competition for dog and owner? We had some great ones at our breed club's fundraiser last year. We had a mini agility course set up (very funny watching owners coaxing their dog to go through the tunnel :)), retrieves over straw bale hurdles and lure coursing, all well supported. Also a great barbecue!
