We have a large caged enclosure that was layed with concrete last year... without drainage! Silly I know!

Its used for dogs and cats so gets smelly and needs regular cleaning once or twice a day. We are having to use a water vacuum to get rid of water after cleaning which is unpleasant and time consuming.

What drainage do you have in your kennels and runs, any ideas on what we can now do?

All help appreciated.

Ideally you would poured the concrete into a slight slope, sloping away from the kennel with a drainage ditch at the far end. I don't know what you could do now, I think I'd just hose once a day, less in the winter and put sawdust down on the floor of the kennel to dry the dogs damp feet, before they get to their beds.

Stiff broom to brush the water away to nearest drainage.

Unfortuntely the garden has no drainage! And believe it or not we bought this house from the person who built it and was in fact a builder!

We may re-do some work this summer. Maybe just add more concrete to what we have done and see if that works. Otherwise starting from scratch.

Even a gully to drain or brush into would make it easier cos I could just vac it out.

I have to brush to the back gate and down the drive to the gutter.

As I have the main inspection drain for half the block I am waiting on hubby redoing the concrete and fit drainage direct into the drain.
