Why don't you try the UK Teckel Society? - they breed old fashioned dachshunds - for work - although highly trainable - I have one - choc and tan wire - they are longer on the leg than show breds ( although they have alot of show bred blood in them , derive from continental hounds where they emphasis is on working ability )...
