Hi story is -- pup of friend is only 12wks old-- at 10wks friend took pup to vets as he was scooting across floor-- pup had reg wormers last being 2days b4 pup was picked up, at nearly 8wks old -panacure 10%----- vet emptied sac -- pup still scooted so was taken back 2 vet the next week --  vet now says pup has infection and gives antibiotics plus advised may need 2 operate on pup to remove sacs! Pup changed from beta puppy 2 lilly's kitchen food-- 1wk later pup goes back (still scooting)-- vet says still infected so antibiotics again for 2wks-- pup still scooting...
Q's are --- Is this v young 4 pup 2 have these problems? wuld the vet have caused infection by emptying sacs? Is it 2 early 2 talk about op? Plus any other advise greatfully received......

I am finding it extremely difficult to decipher your post.  There are a lot of CD'ers that don't like text speak.  Many of us don't use text.

I hope someone will be on later that can understand your post.

Hi I would have thought it was far too young to consider such a major operation. Sorry dont know the food the pup now is on so cant comment there except why did owner change the food ?
Is the owner able to speak to the breeder for advice if a good breeder they will want to help

My immediate feeling is to ask for a second opinion from another vet and certainly dont go down the operation route in one so young

She is in touch with breeder-- breeder spoke to her vet as she was concerned and she had no previous experience with anal problems -- her vet suggested a second opinion from a different practice as well ---Lily's Kitchen is an organic range-- friend hoped that would sort out pups problem

Dont know what your friend would think but I would go for raw feeding I assume lillys kitchen is kibble of some sort. If it is fresh then raw would be better. Any change of diet will take a while if its going to help and I wouldnt be rushing at this age. Interesting to hear what others have to say
Def the second opinion though is most important, pleased the breeder is helping

A second opinion would be wise - even just a different vet at the same practise might do.  However, if she has a good breeder I'd be inclined to take the pup for a visit and see what he/she says.  Some of us are lucky enough to be blessed with really knowledgable breeders and a good dog person with a lot of experience can sometimes provide helpful back up information or an alternate view.

I have a huge amount of respect for my vets - love them in fact - but a good breeder is worth their weight in gold too :)
