- By Ells-Bells [gb] Date 08.02.11 14:03 UTC
Again I have spoken to the owner of the Sire who confirms she has had her paperwork last Monday following an online registration of the litter which was done on Friday 28th January( the day after my legal letter arrived !) ....so all that needed to be done is for the breeder to sign the paperwork and post to me

Well, it does sound as though something positive has come from your Recorded Delivery letter - albeit very late.  So hopefully you will receive your Registration Document shortly - lets hope the details are as you expect!

Thanks for letting us know how it's progressing.
- By tooolz Date 08.02.11 15:53 UTC
Since many of us have a vested interest in the outcome - I sincerley hope that Admin are looking into this 'breeder' who puts his reputation alongside ours....on Champdogs.
- By Kimbo [gb] Date 08.02.11 16:22 UTC
To be honest its only because I don't want to appear very bitter that I have not posted the guys name and details on here for you all to see. I am trying to remain professional about the entire thing and therefore not lowering myself to his shoddy standards, however the more I read about how this can effect all you good and honest breeders I may still do this.........I don't want anyone to ever deal with this person again and part with their hard earned cash...we did not witness anything regards the actual treatment of the puppy that gave us any concern and he is coming on really well, however I would hate him to become a puppy farmer and therefore earn lots of money in a terrible manner......I have already got all my details ready to send my official complaint to the KC and will send to Champdogs and Pets 4 Homes at the same time....thanks for your comments.
- By LJS Date 08.02.11 16:39 UTC
No do not post the details on here as until the reason has been established and they have been dealt with it is your word against theirs at the moment and you could be setting yourself up for them to prosecute you for slander. I would go through the appropraite channels and get your issue sorted out that way. Good luck and hope you get it all sorted.
- By Kimbo [gb] Date 08.02.11 19:38 UTC
You are correct.....I agree with you and will take your advice.....its just that I look at my little guy and feel so lucky that I just hope this does not turn into a nasty business......I am not asking for something that is out of the ordinary all I  want is to be given the paperwork as advertised....time will tell !
- By LJS Date 08.02.11 20:05 UTC
Hopefully if all goes well and are rogue breeders they will get what is coming to them .
- By Boody Date 08.02.11 20:08 UTC
LJS how did you get back from the nederlands so quickly :-p , your flag says you posted in the nederlands and then the uk lol
- By LJS Date 08.02.11 20:13 UTC
Magic carpet ;-)
- By Boody Date 08.02.11 20:15 UTC
Hehe, i went to germany and back in 15 minutes the other week, think it must be a ip issue.

I picked up my newest member of the family a week ago, when I arrived the breeder hadnt even filled in the paper work let alone sent it off. However I am lucky enough to know her very well. She sent it off soon after and hte kennel club have sent it back to her on the 4th, it can take 10 days to get from the kennel club to the breeder (in the post) then a couple of days from the breeder to you.

Obviously this breeder is being a pain, if the stud owner knows the mating took place and its all....within kennel club rules then I dont see why its so difficult for the breeder to send you your papers. Its silly. Good luck and keep chasing it up, he is now your dog and you are entitled to the papers.
- By Brainless [gb] Date 09.02.11 01:53 UTC
I have to agree that from the actual registration to the papers arriving in my case was about a week.

As a first time breeder they may have been a bit slack about all the paperwork, which is rather a lot actually.

Last litter I bred I had to go and get a new printer with all the different bits required by the KCAB.

But there is no excuse for bad manners and not answering letters etc.
- By Kimbo [gb] Date 09.02.11 15:49 UTC
Oh well...........todays post has come and gone !! no paperwork......I have just instructed the Trading Standards to proceed...I so hoped it would not come to this ! No Call, No Texts nothing........Why oh why ???
- By Dakkobear [gb] Date 09.02.11 16:39 UTC
I think he may have his fingers in his ears and be singing 'lalala I'm not listening'! It sounds from what you said before that he didn't realise how much work he was letting himself in for - which doesn't help you of course. Keep in touch with the owner of the sire - it sounds like she is sensible and hopefully can talk some sense into him too. On the bright side it doesn't sound as though you have bought a poorly bred puppy - just unfortunately got a really lazy breeder. Hope you hear something positive soon.
- By Ells-Bells [gb] Date 11.02.11 06:26 UTC
Going slightly off topic - I reguarly check to see what litters have been registered on the KC website for my breed.

It seems that the majority are now registering puppies at 6/7 weeks even KCAB's - how can you send pups off with all the paperwork if they were only registered a few days previously?

You would think that with all the planning of a litter you would have some names in mind to register them once they were safely delivered etc.  My next litter is in the very early stages of planning but I am giving some thought of what to call the litter/my pup that will be staying here(hopefully)!!
- By fifi [gb] Date 11.02.11 08:05 UTC
I didnt register my last litter until they were 8 weeks Ells-Bells and the reason for this was that I wanted to be sure which sex's were destined to be run on for the showring (if any) so that I didnt waste special names I wanted specifically for the ring!  Having said that I had my paperwork back from KC and sent out to owners within a week of doing the online registration.
- By Kimbo [gb] Date 11.02.11 08:31 UTC
Hi, I think my biggest issue now is the fact he does not acknowledge my contacts in anyway. He has not even made contact since receiving our official letter......even if he was still waiting for paperwork from the KC I would be more likley to give him the benefit of the doubt if he kept us informed but he is just down right rude ! Its actually getting to the point where we will make the 2.1/2 hour journey back to his house to see him but its a long way to go if he is not in......we are taking the further now as I have lost my patience and will take this to a suitable end for me now.
- By Brainless [gb] Date 11.02.11 09:44 UTC
I register my pups as soon as I know they are likely to survive (have had likely names on a list throughout pregnancy).

This last litter I did at a few days old, but the paperwork didn't come though until last week, they are 3 weeks old today.

I am lucky as all pups in this breed are the same colour so it's only a case of getting the sex right and you can allocate the given name to given pup at ear tattooing/chipping stage if you want a special name for yourself.

I like to get it done right off as once the pups are this age it is so busy with the endless rounds of feeding changing bedding washing, poop scooping etc.

Next there will be the pedigrees to print, contracts, and all the extra bits and bobs of info the KCAB scheme insists on.
- By Ells-Bells [gb] Date 11.02.11 09:54 UTC
Very similar to me - if I have a potential puppy to keep I pick a special name for her but don't make my final decision on whether or not she stays until just over 6 weeks.

I like all my paperwork prepared ready for pups to leave asap - as, like you say, there is so much of it these days!

Apologies but this thread has only just been drawn to my attention. Please can I ask you to direct complaints of any nature to Admin off forum at admin@champdogs.co.uk Unfortunately, we do not get the time to check the forum as regularly as we would like and unless someone draws something to our attention, it may be missed. By all means debate these matters responsibly, but if you wish to draw something to our attention, then please do not assume we will see it here on the forum.
- By Kimbo [gb] Date 14.02.11 12:52 UTC
Updated information........still nothing regards contact or paperwork. I have now been given guidance on taking this matter legal and I believe I have been patient enough. I am tying to be so polite when making contact and I don't even get acknowledged......hoped that it would not have to get to this but now we have taken it this far I must continue this to the end and get my paperwork......I have been told I can also claim back my bills at the vet as things I have had to pay for were part of the advertisement and therefore should have been part of the deal.....getting very frustrated now...
- By Brainless [gb] Date 14.02.11 19:37 UTC
Best of luck and keep us updated.

did you ever find out if they were actually on the list of Kennel Club Accredited Breeders, if so you certainly need to report them to the scheme co-ordinators,a dn you should have had a Puppy Wallet with a feedback for to send to the Kennel club.
- By Kimbo [gb] Date 15.02.11 16:49 UTC
Hi

Even that was strange.......when we searched originally for breeders he was listed on the KC site which is where we first found him....but now he is not showing ! I have contacted the KC will all relevant paperwork, screen prints of adverts etc and also saved text messages to compile a complete evidence list. They won't talk to me on the phone until they had all the info which I posted yesterday. I have now sent a further 5 day demand letter as per my advisor from Trading Standards asking him again otherwise I will then have to go to small claims court for the consequential losses ie vaccines etc. The bit that really upsets me is that it appears that because I did not get an official receipt from the breeder for the £700 cash I gave him I can't really pursue him !!!  Trading standards have no power to demand the KC paperwork on my behalf either..........and admin from Champdogs are powerless too and have told me I am doing everything they would suggest. It really concerns me that no one appears to have any power to help me and demand this paperwork or take him to task for advertising for all to see on an official dog website and not honour his promises......this is now beginning to get very annoying and time consuming. I travel the world with my job and don't have time to spend chasing this and writing letters of demands for something that he appears to have got away with and no one can touch him.....
- By tooolz Date 15.02.11 17:35 UTC

> that he appears to have got away with and no one can touch him.....

And I suspect he knew that all along. Cant be the first time he's got away with it.
- By Kimbo [gb] Date 15.02.11 17:40 UTC
I am convinced your are correct...............

Just realised how to add my avatar....really pleased you can all see my little guy !!!

- By Kimbo [gb] Date 16.02.11 18:12 UTC
Well its got to solicitors......I have been to one who tells me that I have been more than patient and I have done everything that I should have but as I clearly have got nowhere its time to go legal.....so the instructions have gone out. In legal terms he has broken the terms of contract and is in breach of it under the sale of goods act. Along with the fact he did not vaccinate or worm and the Petlog paperwork was filled out with the wrong date to make him older as it was to early to re home he could find himself in a lot or trouble ! I have even called him again and left a message with who I believe was his brother to please ask him to call me before I do this...........nothing !!!  I feel sick at the thought of having to go down this route but I must.....I really don't want anyone else to have to do this.
- By bluemerlemum [gb] Date 16.02.11 18:45 UTC
Could the kennel club not help you? The stud dog owner is on side with you isnt he/she?
So surely the kennel club could run the DNA and give you the papers or am I living in my own little world Haha.

I hope you get the papers, breeders like that need to be brought to justice.
- By Kimbo [gb] Date 16.02.11 19:16 UTC
Hiya, All the KC wanted at this stage was for me to formally complain and give as much information as I can......which I have done so in writing last week but they would not discuss anything with me at all on the phone as they insist that as far as they are concerned I am not the registered owner, I tried to explain the situation and said that's the whole point ! I am the owner but because the breeder has not or will not sign the paperwork and send it to me my hands are tied. I find the whole situation unbelievable.....they have confirmed the litter was registered on the 28th Jan so surely they can see that its the breeder being lazy as to why I have not had my paperwork. It has to be all above board for the litter to be registered so why won't they simply send me copies I have no idea. If i read this thread I would think that there is more to it than meets the eye because its so simple........sign paperwork and post !! If he has not received it which may be the case then chase KC for it......but he appears to be doing nothing at all to put an end to this situation. Lets hope my solicitor can make this young man see sense.....there are so many conflicting stories, he has told the sires owner he has posted them to me but I have managed to trace his Aunt (also a Bullmastiff breeder) who tells me he has them and all he needs to do is sign them and post them !!!!  How can it take so long to do this ........
- By Kimbo [gb] Date 17.02.11 14:30 UTC Edited 17.02.11 16:11 UTC
YIPPEEE !!!! Finally I have the paperwork and I have just changed the ownership to me !!!! ...............

The final thing that has made me laugh is the name the breeder has chosen to name our little guy .....because he would not contact us we had no say in the name and therefore he has chosen one himself and decided (I believe ) to try to have the last laugh...he has named him:-

NO MORE NONSENSE

But he has made me laugh because his sarcasm is wasted I I love it and am quite happy with that name.....

It has saved me time and hassle to see my solicitor which I had booked for tomorrow morning.

I would like to bring this thread to an end from my point of view by making you aware of the Sire's owner..who has been absolutely brilliant in every way not just with my dilemma but also with general guidance on the breed and my puppy. She is a credit to Breeders and I would love her name to be put in lights for all to see.......

Her name is Lynn Denby

Thanks Lynn you are a credit to your trade and a lovely lady.

xx

Ive just spluttered my tea all over the keyboard with the name he has given your pup.  Talk about trying to have the last word!

Im so pleased that I could give you details that led you to the stud owner, heres to a long and happy life with your dog.

I love the name too... and love the Irony of it... :-)

relax and enjoy your pup and hope that he is full of nonsense lol.. (tic)
- By rachelsetters Date 17.02.11 15:09 UTC

I do love the name too :)

Well done and so glad you got support and help by the pups Sire owner.

Fantastic I bet you are over the moon.
What a rather childish thing for him to do...but as long as you like it who cares. ;)
- By Jeff (Moderator) Date 17.02.11 15:27 UTC
Great news, let us hope the owner of the bitch never breeds again.

Jeff.
- By roscoebabe [gb] Date 17.02.11 15:49 UTC
Great news! And as others have said the name is brilliant!

Kind Regards
- By Carrington Date 17.02.11 16:09 UTC
Yippee, Yippee, Yoo!

What a palava, but thank goodness it is over,

So pleased that you have the Sires owner as a friend, if you ever get to show him it will bring a smile to our faces, whenever we hear that name. :-D

Very best of luck,
- By universalady Date 17.02.11 19:26 UTC
So pleased that everything finally came right for you. It does make me wonder though how many unscrupulous breeders there are out there who pull the similar kinds of stunts, and JP doesn't do anything about it. I applaud your determination to get the paperwork, now you can enjoy your puppy in the knowledge he is YOURS, and that there's 'no more nonsense' to be had with the breeder
- By Alfieshmalfie Date 17.02.11 19:45 UTC
Ive just looked your pup up on the KC database, there isnt even a Affix, he is literally 'No More Nonsense' !!  Id love to know what he called the other pups!
- By Brainless [gb] Date 17.02.11 19:51 UTC

Great news, just one little thing breeders like her and many here would squirm at 'Trade' ;) We breed and show/work dogs as a serious Hobby/Passion, not as a business.

I still hope you have reported him the the KC, so that he will get his Act together.

Must say I love the name and I really think you should show him, with such a good name, it can have many appropriate connotations.
- By Pookin [gb] Date 17.02.11 20:10 UTC
So pleased you got your papers finally and I love the name too, amazing!
- By weimed [gb] Date 17.02.11 20:23 UTC
Brillient name!  might have been meant scarky but its a great name
- By LucyDogs [gb] Date 17.02.11 21:40 UTC
Great news it's finally sorted and it's totally backfired because I LOVE that name too!!
- By Nova Date 18.02.11 07:22 UTC
Been following your story and pleased you finally got there, also love the name it is inspired.

If only everyone insisted on having what is offered by the advert this sort of thing would stop - there is someone else on the forum at the moment that bought a dog that should have been registered and inoculated and turned out to have neither.
- By Henri3402 [gb] Date 18.02.11 11:04 UTC
So glad to hear that you've finally got the paperwork for your puppy.  Like others on here, love the name!!!
- By Alysce [gb] Date 18.02.11 13:34 UTC
Well done for sticking with it - you'll have done someone else a favour by not giving in!  Great name too!  Wonder what your boys litter mates names might be ..............  "What a palaver", "Play the game", any more ideas folks? :-)
- By dogs a babe Date 18.02.11 14:14 UTC

>Wonder what your boys litter mates names might be ..............  "What a palaver", "Play the game", any more ideas folks?

How about 'Never Again'...

I think this is one breeder (whatever we call him) that wouldn't be missed :)

Congrats to the OP for persevering AND for the name - it's perfect!
