Topic Dog Boards / Health / Nosodes: which ones and where?
- By pamela Reidie [gb] Date 30.12.02 00:01 UTC
For anyone who is using Nosodes instead of vacinations I would be interested to know which ones you use, where you get yours and what pattern you have chosen to give then in.

Thanks

Hi Pam

I get nosodes from Ainsworths - they're not too expensive. The dosage is 2 tablets a day for the first three days, then 1 per week for 6 weeks, then 1 each month. If you have a bad memory like I do, it's best to put this on a calendar - and remember to check it regularly !! :)

The thing I'm not sure about, though, is whether you start afresh each year i.e. when you stop the 1 a month and begin the process again. Hopefully someone else here will know (perhaps Christine ?).

Hi all, I really think that anyone interested in homeopathy should get a few books to read up on it first and find a h/pathic vet & chat with them. It`s not as straight forward and can be a bit difficult explaining things over the net & I think such decisions should not be taken lightly. For something as serious as using nosodes instead of vaccs I would do it under guidance from a h/pathic vet & not just buy them from a chemist & give them myself. Chris Day & James Newns are both h/pathic vets with excellent reputations.
Joyce I don`t think you need to give them every year, if your dogs are titred you will know the antibody levels so they only need it if these show low or none or if your dogs have come into contact with any diseases. Heres some links hope they help.

Thanks, Christine. The nosode link was particularly interesting and made me realise that I have been doing things wrong for the last 5 years ! Just proves you're never too old to learn :D
I do agree with your comments about getting guidance and advice from a homeopathic vet - if only there were more of them ! I think the nearest to where I live is approx 40 miles.

Hi Joyce,
I get mine from the same place as Charm does. I've always found him (Charles Barratt) to be helpful with any questions or queries :)

Oh Joyce thats a long way away!! Is there no one nearer? Here`s another link that you mught like but I think you may already have it but someone else might find it interesting :) Don`t think you where doing it wrong tho, just h/pathy has different interpretations like everything else just to confuse us even more!! :) :)

Thanks all,

I am already a memeber of a few of the "Just say no" groups but had not actually started nay treatments. I will do my homework first and consult a homopathic specialist before starting, but thought I would ask what you do. :-)
