Congratulations on a lovely litter Lucy. Hope mum and babies are all well this morning. We kept our smallest girl and she's already bigger than some of her sisters at 5 months so size at birth absolutley no indication of how they'll turn out. I'm sure she'll get some extra tlc...

Congratulations and hope all is well. Now the hard work begins :)
Thank you all for your best wishes , Piper has done an amazing job and has had 13 beautiful babies :-0 !!! I had a gut feeling that she hadn't quite finished so called the vet in the early hours for some oxytocin , was so relieved when he said he could do a house call as i only live 10 min away from him and he was on his way home - what luck !
Anyway , he gave her the injection and out popped another boy and a girlie , so the total headcount is 11 boys and 2 girls , weights are all ok , 1 small boy @10 oz and 1 small girl @ 8ozs . They are doing great , all feeding well , mum is very proud of herself but extremely knackered .
Thank you all for your best wishes and words of encouragement , i am on cloud 9 , even though not been to sleep yet , can't stop looking at their beautiful faces lol .
Lucy x
What a wonderful ending, I wish you luck in the next few weeks, you are going to be rather busy, but just think of all the fun watching them play and develop.
Well done all.
This makes better reading than a blockbuster novel! Well done Piper and well done you! You must be due for a large cuppa now!

Hi Lucy, just started a thread to ask you how things were going and I am delighted to hear that you have managed so well and that all pups have a good chance - well done both - now I can leave my desk and do some house work - thanks for letting us know the good news.

Good luck with mum and babies. Hope they all do well.

Yikes, 13!!!! Well done to you and mum!
even though not been to sleep yet
I don't think you'll be sleeping for a few weeks! It'll be easy for Piper to sit on one with that many. She'll need constant attention until they open their eyes at least. :)
Sending you some black coffee and matchsticks for your eyes! :) :)
Wow, huge congratulations! That is a MASSIVE litter! No wonder they came early - it must have been very crowded in there.
Just as a matter of interest, how many days from first and second matings did she go in the end? And also, did you progesterone test the bitch? Did she look large early on? And is it her first litter?
Sorry, lots of questions, but thought it would be useful for information purposes for all of us. Thx.

Good news - wonder if the two bitches will be very dominant with all that testosterone flying about in there :-)

I doubt it; one of my bitches was the only bitch with six brothers in her litter, and she was the sweetest, gentlest bitch you could imagine. However a friend's bitch, from a litter of all bitches, is quite a nasty piece of work.
