I have an 8 week old Yorkie and he HATES his little tiny collar. Whines, itches and won't play when it's on. Is he too young for it?? If not, how should I get him happy in it?

Put it on for about 10 mins 3 times a day and increase the time over the next 2 weeks. Never leave the pup whilst its on. Try it when you are grooming. Take no notice of the pup being unhappy, all pups are like that to start with. Jackie

I always put collar on at feeding time so it has a pleasant association

I'm an evil mum! I get a small cat collar (the ones with the elastic in them) for my pup and once it's on it stays on. I never did do the 'break it in a bit at a time thing'. They scratch for a while, but eventually give up. At that age they're never out of my sight anyway. I figure the quicker they learn the less hassle there is. After a week or so they never notice it's there, but if it's off they started scratching LOL
