Hi All , anyone offer any advice/tips. My large breed girlie is now 7 weeks along and is having a large litter (11 seen on scan , poss 12) , she is just so uncomfortable and miserable the last few days. She spent all of last night getting in and out of her whelping box and can't have had more than an hours sleep (me neither). She lays down then after a few minutes in making grunting noises and getting back up and trying to lie somewhere else etc etc , i feel so sorry for her. She is currently on the sofa stretched out as far as she can but is still moaning to herself and constantly changing sides.
I know there is not a lot more i can do for her but just wondered if anyone had any tips. I want the next two weeks to fly by but i know they are going to drag!

Would a beanbag be anygood for her or a very fluffy cusion for her to sink into and mould to her.  i don't know if that's practical.

Maybe massage her back and legs to ease her muscles.

Awwww poor girly, it must be so awful for them, its bad enough for us and generally we just have the one lol.
I was speaking to the vet last night who breeds and shows Beagles she said the biggest litter she's had was 12. She said the poor bitch literally could not move towards the end. I asked her then what she did and she said there really was nothing she could do just hope that they came soon lol.
I really feel for you, no doubt Ill be saying the same in 2 weeks time lol. I think the bean bag thing is a great idea, I suppose when they lie down it pushes the pups up so would be more uncomfortable, with the bean bag at least she can sink into it and its not hard to lie on. Just make sure the poor lass can actually get off it lol. Other than what reikiangel has said I really cant think of anything else, I do hope someone else can come up with something though, shes still got 2 weeks left, bless her! Maybe she will have them that little bit earlier if she's so full!
