
I would still advise getting registered stock, as they are more likely to be bred by people who have taken care in their breeding, and are proud of what they have bred. That is not to say that bad breeders do not use the KC registration system. I would contact the relevant breed club for a puppy/breeder list, as those actively belonging to a breed club are more likely to be serious about their breed.
The breeds you mention are very different from each other, in size, coat and I imagine Temperament. One mans meat as they say is another mans poison. For instance dogs that have loose flews and skin, or floppy ears do not appeal to me, but you may find them attractive. Some people like a dog that is very active, some like couch potatoes! I would suggest that you visit a dog Show, or even better go and see Discover Dogs at Earls Court in a couple of weeks time! It is the first weekend of November I beleive, but check with Earls Court, or the Kennel Club.
