I have a 8 week old Yorkie and have a few questions:

1)I've put a ferret collar on him and he whines and scratches at it. Is he too young for it? Should I just leave it on and assume he'll get used to it?

2)He is teething and bites everything. I've been giving him toys whenever he does this. Any other suggestions?

3)How much would you expect him to eat?

Thanks so much for your help.

My pup's breeder had all her pups collared from 4 weeks , they were all used to one by the time we picked them up , so i wouldnt think he's too young for one , best get him used to it now.
What food are you feeding him ? and how long have you had him?
Mine eats Eukanuba , it has a weight chart on the bag that tells how much to feed according to dogs weight.
Im sure some one on here will know if you supply dogs weight , :D

As for biteing everything , mine does too , shes a 10 week Newf. Our main priority is not to let her get used to biteing us.We allways avert her mouth if she tries to chew our hands/clothes etc , but when she really wants to play we wrap our arm in a towel~ she knows allready she can only nibble when the towel appears ! this has also stopped her trying to "nibble" the kids !
She has 12 or 13 toys~rope ones , balls , squeeky bone,nylabone and a kong.The kong is excellent~hours of fun.But mostly , when she's caught nibbling a short sharp/firm "NO!"

Thanks so much for your reply. I am feeding him Eukanuba and will check the bag! Good luck with your pup.

Hi LibbyB, I have a 12 week old female yorkie!! I do what Zoe says, devert the biting to something else. But also the firm NO or a whine like another pup works with Precious. Good luck! Shirl :-)
