My other halfs' family are seriously into sheep dog trials.....they have now been warned that they are on a target list for the league against cruel sports. The act of herding the sheep (quarry) and confining them in a pen whilst the sheepdog (hunting dog) shows off its skills (ie coursing!!!!) is apparently cause for getting it banned. So there you are. It will be working trials & dog shows next if you let them.:(

I've jusr watched this, and it was a delightful programme, but wondered when Blair would get his mitts on it. After all, not much difference between a collie herding sheep and hounds after a fox really, is there?

its ok to do it for a living gillian...just not to enjoy doing it for pleasure (ie trials). bit like coursing!!!

All I can say is that there are some B----Y STUPID people out there! A sheep can be so stubborn the dog has to be well trained and strong eyed, many an old ewe has put a collie in its place

I used to like watching OM&HDog (lazy typist :) ). Cruelty - some people are weird arent they?

I love watching one man and his dog (only because I adore BC's)! We go to Scotland a lot (friend up there) and to watch these dogs is out of this world ! Sam can't belive they will start on this too now !! Julieann
