Mine always have a bowl of fresh water in the corner. I've rarely seen the drink it, but from the amount of pee on the paper they must drink loads.
Never had puppies try to eat po. This lot will go away from the bed to poo, but will then happily run through it and roll in it while playing if I'm not careful. It's almost as if once they have done it, it ceases to exist !!

Hello White Lilly,

If the pups are eating poo it is usually because they are hungry.   You could increase the ND to 4 meals a day, supplemented with mums milk in between.   If they are not hungry they will just walk away from the food.   Don't forget that as puppies grow they loose the enzyme that allows them to tolerate/digest milk so they may well be better on the ND and not as much milk as before.

I am sorry to read of all your problems with mum, but hope it all goes okay from now on.

Forgot to add that once you begin weaning fresh water should be available,  take it up when you are not able to monitor what the pups are doing, you do not want one to fall asleep in it, and take up last thing at night.

My bitch didn't have much milk and 7 pups to feed so I topped them up with bottles and decided to try solids at 2 weeks. They absolutely loved it and were eating 5 meals a day at 3 weeks. I'd never tried it so young before but it has worked really well. They are 5 weeks now and still feed from mum every 4 hours or so, but I think it is more comfort than nutrition lol

Mine are always on 4 meals a day once they have been tried on the solids for a couple of days.
