Topic Dog Boards / Breeding / Confused about Idexx

Confused, my bitch is due in season within the next 10 days so trying to get everything sorted. Traveling to the stud and as this will (hopefully) be her 1st litter at 3 years I want to minimise the chances of her missing. Anyways, called up idexx today to order the progesterone test and they said my vet has to take the bloods and send them away to the lab as they don't deal with the public. Is this rite as all the posts appear to say just call them and they'll send out the test kit. Thanks xx

When I dealt with Idexx jut over a year ago they sent me the test kit out and my vet took the bloods, I then sent the blood away and got a phone call off Larry to tell me the levels once they had recieved the blood. Dont know why theyre saying different. Maybe give them another ring and see what happens? Dont mean to sound awful but maybe the person you spoke to didnt have any idea about it???

I do know some vet also use idexx so they will take the blood and send it to them and get results back for you but I sent it to them myself last time

Sorry not much help lol

I think there are 3 different Idexx labs in the UK, so perhaps they have different policies about dealing with the public...?

I just e-mailed them on: labhelp@idexx.com and they arrived within a couple of days. Just give your full address and what you need and it will arrive by post in a couple of days.
