Can anyone please put my mind at rest, or offer any advice as I am worried.
We have an 8 year old Dobe and have noticed that he has developed a large lump/growth on his chest. A couple of years ago he went to the vet with bold patches on his elbows and rear hip and the vet said this was an occurance in large dogs and nothing to worry about.
Around the same time he developed what I can only describe as a blister on his chest that was like a 'flappy' bit of loose skin. He went back to the vet and the conclusion was that he'd been asleep by the fire for too long and it was a burn. The vet said it could be removed, but as it was not causing any discomfort there was no need to remove it. It was about an inch long (hang) when he was sat up right and from a distance could be misatken for his 'bits'.
My wife noticed yesterday that it has substantially increased in size and whilst is still hangs, it appears to be full and looks hard.
I have just arrived back from work and it has dramatically increased in size (both width, hang and overall circumfrence) it also looks red and painful.
In fact from where I'm sat now I can only describe it as looking like a brain!
He doesn't appear to be in any pain, and is eating well, all be it looking a touch thinner than he was.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Will be a long night waiting for the vets to open.
Thanks
