No but have just ordered some as well as if they last as long as they say and don't splinter or break off then think they are well worth trying , thanks for the link :-)

No, but I'd like to hear how you both get on. I've got some real chewers here :-D

There's a few posts on BritBarf at the moment, asking the same question. A couple of replies have said they don't last that long (an border collie had a large one that lasted no more than 3 hours, another poster said "a lot of dogs were not interested in them, one finished his in 2 minutes and another in ten minutes.")
They'd probably last Esme (Goldie) a while as she isn't a determined chewer. However I think my Dobes would make light work of them.
I'd be interested to see how people get on with them though.

I have not heard very good reviews of these, with a lot of people saying their dogs were not interested, and those that were seemed to devour them in no time at all. The overall opinion was that they were definitely not worth the money. Will be interested in seeing how you go on.

Not tried these but I am interested in your views. I bought a piece of water buffalo horn once for the girls from a man who made walking sticks, he used it for the carved handles. All my girls have chewed on it at some piont and it has been popular. I have had it for 2 years now and it is still dragged out of the toy box by one or other of them for a good chomp on. It has lasted well.

Inka was given several pieces while we were in USA, they were quite expensive and they didn't last at all.

Well we will try them and if they don't last longer than a week ( as stated on their web site ) I will be asking for a refund :-)

I haven't used those ones but I do give the dogs deer and water buffalo horn bought from stick makers, as another poster said the buffalo horn was very popular and safer I think, the deer horn did splinter a bit but the buffalo doesn't at all. It's also waaaay cheaper from stick makers, but you do have to rake about for the thick bits.

I wish I'd waited to read all the comments before spending £40 on a set for my dogs. Will let you know how they get on :-)

They have arrived and was quite surprised how small the 'large' ones are !
Anyway they are going to last a long time as they have all been given one spat them out and are now scattered over various beds looking like we have had a moulting deer in the house ! I think they prefer a large beef rib to chomp on !

Received yesterday and he seems to be having fun with it. I purchased medium size and it is a little longer than his large size blue nylabone. Yesterday was nonstop playing he even took it out on his walk keeping it in his mouth, must say he looked rather proud lol, think he has learned a lesson not to throw it up in the air as it plonked him on the head (it's heavier than his nylabone) he became a little shy of it for a while but then returned playing with it.
Today he has played with it half the day, have noticed a few chewed areas but no significant damage unlike his nylabone that he manages to destroy within two weeks. I will report back in two weeks time to see if it still intact.

I've tried these and so that last about a week. I've also looked into the product because I like to know all about what I feed my dog. What you might not know is antlers off ebay are often roe deer ( very sharp and quite unpleasant for the dog).. tried them... The antler used for the Stagbars is ALOT cheaper than the red deer antler going on ebay which sells for a small fortune (British? Foreign?) Don't forget you then need equipment for making it manageable. I've looked into it - they are good value when you look more closely

Ours arrived today, I bought 4 of the extra large but they're not that big. The 3 older dogs said they'd rather have a pigs ear but the little silken loves them, she now has all 4 on her bed, she's gnawed away at one for ages and it only has some tiny scratch marks on it. I'm hoping the others will try them if they see her persevering :-)

The other thing I have noticed is the difference between the ones cut at the bottom or the top of the antler. There is more marrow for them to get at and so it is the only one that has been chewed so far. The others are just left for us to trip over them !

I agree they're not consistent, but I don't mind that with a natural product. Mine are all at the bottom, thicker part of the antler but 3 are dark brown and smell like deer and one of them is really bleached and cracked, with muck in the cracks - it looks like a dog has buried it in the garden for a year or so.....I think they found that one somewhere :-D

We received ours to today the Boston is not interested in her one she tends only to like white hide chews, but the Boxer loves her one,she is in her element.

Well it's still intact but he is bored of it now and it's dumped in his toy pile. Seems he is more satisfied with his nylabone.

So it's a month later - how are everyone's antlers looking? Are the dogs interested in them at all? I haven't seen mine touch theirs for a couple of weeks, but 2 of them do have some
nibble marks so they must chew them occasionally. The really old looking one on the left arrived like that - complete with green bits!

So...a bit of a deer do, then!
Joking aside, I hadn't come across this before, will file under 'interesting' and see whether there are any at Crufts...

Still intact with a few chew marks about the same as your picture chaumsong. He hardly touches it anymore and still loves his nylabone.

They are alot more chewed than the girls here. Thinking about making a paper mâché deeds head and sticking them on and mounting it on the wall !! :-D

Got some of these for my TT girls and after the ifrst initial set too of chewing them, they have now lost interest and they can't make any head way with them. I think I may soak them in water in the fridge overnight, as it says on the leaflet, and see if they like them any better after that.
When i contacted the people that sell them, they told me they wouldn't be attending Crufts.

Mine will have a quick nibble if they haven't 'seen' it for a while. I usually find it under the sofa or tucked into the most odd places :) After it's been defluffed, they will chase around with it and tease each other but they actually would rather chew all the things they shouldn't! ;)

www.l4petservices.com is where I got mine from. They say the bars are selected by weight. I have seen some large that are more like mediums but L4 have occassionally sent me a large insted of a medium because of this!
My SpringerXPointer will spend hours chewing at his where the Goldie is on and off. I pick them up for a few days which seems to get them interested again then I will spread a bit of pate or something else which gets them chewing again. From friends accounts the reception can be varied from dog to dog but when they like them..........they like them.
The best bit for me is that they dont leave a mess on the carpet and they dont upset the boys stomaches.
Personally I think they are a great alternative chew.

I bought a large one last week, thought I would just get one to see if they like them first, well they love it but it has just about gone already and it has made a real mess on the carpet, when it got wet with their constant chewing it bled on the carpet, when I went into the front room I could not believe the mess,I have washed the marks twice now and you can still see them,I have taken photos to send to them to see what they say.

I mentioned it before but it bares repeating, if you go to any country fairs or game fairs, go look for the stick makers, I got three whole racks of large antlers for £12, once sawn up I now have 3 very large, six medium, and about 10 small pieces at a fraction of the price of Stagbars .

Our Goldie loves her stagbar, but they are the biggest hit with our 2 4 month old kittens they love to give them a good chew!!! Very funny to watch.

Our collies are not at all interested in them, would rather have raw bones like another poster said.
