Hurrah for the medication!! My Beetle has been fit-free for 5 years now, and her tabs down to almost nothing. It just proves there's hope.

I've just looked at the site - obviously it's American but I'm staggered that so many of the dogs are on phenobarbitone - is this still used for dogs in the UK? I'm more au fait with human epilepsy, having a 33 yr old daughter who started having seizures at 13 months - after measles (yes, the illness!!) at 10 months. I'm also a registered nurse and health visitor. Phenobarbitone is a really old drug and I don't think it's often used with humans now - so why can't dogs have the benefit of the newer and more effective medication? Cathy.
