My so called bargain from Tesco was a top reduced from £19 to £7. However the security tag was left on so I've got to take it back!

Had the same thing before Christmas. My OH bought me 2 coats (don't ask). One fitted which I liked, and the other one was lovely but too small and I decided it wasn't 'me' anyway and I took it back the next day. At the refund desk I showed the receipts for both coats, I was wearing the other one and when I looked down the coat STILL had the security tag in the hem!
It didn't set any alarms off when I walked in! The lady behind the counter was baffled as well.

Years ago I bought a waistcoat in Dorothy Perkins sale. I noticed the security tag when I got home, it hadn't set off the alarms as I left the store. I rang the shop to find out if my local branch could remove the tag because the shopping centre is 22 miles from my home. However they gave me travelling expenses so my waistcoat was almost free in the end because The expenses were very generous.

I can't see that there's any way to remove it without ruining the top, it's on the neckline. Typical! I'm trying not to go out and catch flu.

I managed to walk out of tesco recently with baby clothes that still had the tag in. No alarm went off. Was very cheesed off but luckily father in law managed to release it using two strong magnets. I know lots of people this has happened to.
Why put tags on items if they dont set the alarm off??! If its to work as a visual deterant they need to start putting the tags in places that can be seen!!!!

i bought a pair of trainers online and when they arrived one trainer had a security tag on the tongue! I contacted the shop who said i could post them back or take them to my local shop, i rang the shop to tell them what had happened and what time i would be coming so i would not get pounced on by security when arriving at the shop!

I try not to buy clothes from Tesco at my local store the staff there are really badly trained in removing tags and I'm forever setting the beepers off on the way out - so embarassing !!
