I have a twenty month old Shih Tzu bitch, white with champagne ears. She is nearly ready to stand and we have been let down with cover. She is pure bred but not pedigree, and a precious pet.We live in Essex, but are prepared to travel to allow her to have this one litter before she is spayed.Pick of the litter or nominal stud fees. Please help!
I can be contacted on email;Yveseven@yahoo.net or phone 01376 585648

If she's your 'precious pet' are you really willing to chance serious injury or death by letting her whelp? Shi Tzu's are known for problematic birthing. Their hips are narrow for the puppies wide heads. Blockage and emergency cesaereans are a fairly common occurance.

If you lack experience and you are not a serious breeder, please reconsider your desire for your bitch to have pups. Color is the least important factor.... The health of your bitch + the stud's family history and HIS size in relation to hers are a critical issue in this matter.

I would suggest discussing this with her original breeder, but since she was bred with no regard to pedigree, I'd doubt that source concerning veracity. Please contact your nearest Breed club for further advice. You can usually locate one via an internet search engine

Hello guest. There is no need for your bitch to have a litter before she is speyed :)

Most responsible breeders will only let their stud dogs service a very good example of the breed , one who has possibly proven that she is a good example and has all the relevant health checks done.

Possibly you would reconsider your decision to breed from her until you have been able to research a bit more?

:)

Hope that helps

Melody
