Hello everyone Looking for advice we purchased a labrador a few months ago, she is two years old, we feel we were not told the complete truth when we purchased her, she is kennel club registered. The question is we feel she may have had pups before we purchased her, even though the breeder when asked denied this, is there anyway of us checking this with Kennel club etc.
I would assume if you rang the KC and gave them her KC number and name and the name of the previous owner etc they would be able to tell you...but thats providing the litter were registered as KC.
What makes you think shes had pups?
Thanks for your reply. Her teats are very prominent, she was quite thin and lethargic when we purchased her, the breeder said this was because she had just had a season, however she came in to seen within 4weeks of purchasing her, he did not tell us that he had sold her before to someone. i found this out by her being chipped, and speaking to the previous owner whom had returned her to him.
Can I ask why the previous owner had returned her to the breeder.
I would ring the KC and just see if they can help, also a trip to the vet might answer some questions...they might be able to tell if shes had a litter.
Sorry I cant be of more help...but there are loads of people on here with a lot more experiance than me who may have other suggestions though.
She is in fantastic condition now and is well into her training at the local gundog club. The previous owner had health checks done on her and her hip scores needed to be lower even though they are in the acceptable level but they are acredited breeders and needed to elimate poor hip scores. The person who bred her did not provide us with this information or pay for the health checks even though he put them on the price of the dog when we purchased her. I only found out this info by her being chipped.

If you have the name of the breeder, and previous owner, anyone with the Gundog BRS will be able to tell you if a litter was registered from her...however, If she has had a litter and it was unregistered, it would be difficult to prove
Good luck with hopefully finding out about her....she has a lovely home and lots of tlc...well done.

Can happen with phantoms so in reality no real way externally that you could tell.
Last year I bought a bitch and after transferring her into my name, contacted the KC via their website to find out how any pups she had given birth to in the past. They got back to me within a couple of days.
