Hi everyone, hope you all had a good Christmas! Only half a day left to go before we collect Lucy, our long awaited lab pup!! Much excitment (and a little trepidation, but I guess that's normal?!). A question that occured to me whilst reading another thread-can puppies eat the little 'Bonio' type biscuits-not as her main food you understand, have got that sorted! Any advice would be appreciated!!
Nic :)

Congrats on ur little one and enjoy Lucy :)

Congratulations
It's so exciting, isn't it? I was seeing puppies in my sleep for about three months before we got Morgan(cocker) :-) The bonios were a bit big for Morgan but gravy bones are easier to break and he also loves tiny cubes of cheese and chopped up hotdog sausages. Hope all goes well at the weekend.
Best wishes

Hi Nic, I was just thinking about you tonight. I knew you picked up your pup tomorrow! I hope you get some sleep tonight!!! I do know exactly how your feeling right now. The drive there is even more anxious! Did you decide to try the Housebreaking in 7 days? Remember we talked about it on another post? Precious hates her crate, so it hasn't worked for me at all. I'm still working with her to get her to like it. Atleast now she will go in it and sleep some. Before she wouldn't even go in it. Good luck and have a wonderful day tomorrow!!! Shirl :D :D

Oh I know how excited you must be I think the day before is always the longest, if you get chance tomorrow let us all know how you get on on your first day, all the very best

Don't be surprise if you get a bit of post puppy blues/depression.
Several long waiting puppy owners have found at first that they have found it hard to bond if the pup is naughty, or they compare to a lost friend.
Remember all pups have toilet accident, chew things they shouldn't and often nip! This can make a new owner feel a failure, disappointed. Well just plain down.
One of our regular posters felt this way about her new pup, but got over it. Just can't remember who :D

Brainless, Thanks for posting that! It is so true!! I was so excited to get Precious two weeks ago, then after more and more time went on, I felt like I was really not qualified to have her. I love her dearly and she means the world to me, but I question myself alot. Thanks again. Shirl :D

Hi Nic
We've had our new puppy about a week now so I know how you are feeling :-D Although he was only 7.5 weeks old when we got him he still managed to chomp his way through a whole bonio biscuit.
Good luck with your new puppy :-)

Hi Nic
I would not think a pup should have much problem with a bonio - my last litter were eating chicken wings (whole) and frames at six weeks old
Have fun with your new pup

Just be careful of pup filling up on Bonio where a balanced meal should be - one Bonio won't do much harm, but one Bonio day is stopping the puppy eating his balanced diet........
