Topic Dog Boards / Showing / is yearling a Crufts qualifying class?
- By Paula Dal [gb] Date 07.01.11 19:36 UTC
Hi all, can someone tell me if yearling 1-3 place at a Champ show that has cc's on offer for Dalmatians IS a Crufts qualifying win?
I have read it in the new Crufts schedule but someone with far more showing experience than me keeps saying it isn't and now I am doubting myself :-) It doesn't mention Stud book bands so was wondering if this will have an effect on the answer?
Please help :-(

I had to read and reread it several times before I believed it :)

Im sure it has been for a number of years in our breed, im pretty sure my boy qualified a few years ago from Yearling, or is it recent with Dalmations ?

The qualifying 'rules' can change every year, to try to control the number of entries and avoid Crufts becoming impossibly (and illegally, due to fire regulations) huge. One year only 1st and 2nd places qualified, not 1st, 2nd and 3rd as is more usual.

Most years, such as in 2008, for example, it was only Band E breeds that qualified from Yearling.
