can anyone help me?
what are the laws/guidelines/rules on having a security camera on the outside of your home. What radius are you allowed to film. i.e. if you have a mutual pathway would someone be able to film this and therefore anyone that walks on this pathway or does this encroach on individuals rights? Scottish laws pleas. thanks.

A gentleman in our street recently got cautioned from the police for having a security camera pointing from his bedroom window across his front garden and into the street(watching his v expensive sports car). Him and the next door neighbour don't get along and the neighbour had made a complaint saying that he was watching who was coming and going from theirs(which technically he could). He had to remove the camera. That was Scotland it happened. I think it is only allowed to watch your land.
contact your local council and police and get them to give you advice...we are going to our local police station tomorrow to discuss this. We have problems with kids and youths from the local school climbing over our fence and opening the gate to let the dogs out...we have a 'mutal' back alley and from the road the kids cant been seen..we are going to to get this sorted asap!
