OH spent most of the day in bed.
Apart from going to visit the emergency GP this morning.
They were quite alarmed and ran bloods and chest Xray!!
All fairly okay, his glands are pretty amazing, very painful and track right from the base of his skull to the top of his head....loads of them.
It is a change its usually always me......so haha, payback of the best kind coming his way.
He is always very attentive, so I do mean to be be good to him.

Oh dear - there is a lot about :( My daughter has Swine flu and pneumonia :( Her boyfriend had to take her to hospital this morning as they couldn't get hold of a GP :( She only moved to the area in November and doesn't know anyone apart from her boyfriend. She is due to start a new job on Tuesday - I don't think that will happen now :( We are over 100 miles away, but she insists that she will be OK and boyfriend is looking after her :)
I hope your OH will be feeling better soon and that it doesn't spread to the rest of your family :(

Oh dear your poor daughter!
Its horrible when we have to entrust them to others.....but sure she will be fine lets hope her new employers are going to be sympathetic.
There is an awful lot about and I believe it is going to get a whole lot worse.
Trouble is there is so little to be done apart from lots of rest and fluids.
This year for the first time ever I opted to have the jab, this included the h1n1, my arm was sore (the worst affected in our dept.) but now I am glad I did.

Daughter was staying with us over Christmas. I went down with what I thought was a virus Christmas Eve - just a bit shivery, mild headache etc - nothing bad - so I wonder now whether I had the flu too, but only very mildly as I'm 'old' :) :) I don't qualify for the jab, but they reckon a lot of older people have some immunity to the H1N1 from many years ago :) :)
I did hear on the television that the outbreak may have peaked - so let's hope so :)

Oh Daisy I'm so sorry to hear this! very best wishes for a complete and speedy recovery for your Daughter xx
and Karen, ditto that for your poor Hubby!!
Best wishes for you both and everything crossed x

P.s. on a plus point: Thank-you both! It has reminded me to phone my GP's surgery I'm an Asthmatic and have totally forgotten to get my Flu jag this year, so better get it organised!
No supplies of the Jab in our area!
Or mine and I am in a high risk group and my bil has swine flu!

Sorry to hear this Daisy :-( I hope she is on the mend now :-)
> as I'm 'old' :-) :-) I don't qualify for the jab,
I thought that being 'old' was a qualification in itself for the jab! :)

we had the flu before xmas, all of us had it,i have not been that ill in years, really really poorly, after 9 days developed brohnchitus and had antibiotics, then had a cold and still not right.I was sick as well with it and i am sure i had the swine flu,i am paying for the jab next year,i never want to feel like that again. My youngest had it bad,she passed out and we called an ambulance,we are ok now though.I think we should all be able to have the jab if we want it
jo

My OH went to bed Christmas day afternoon & is still there as I write. Has AB's as it went on his chest. I was wondering whether to get the flu jab, it's advertised in the supermarket pharmacies. I DEFINATELY can't afford to go down with it.
Sending get well thoughts to everyone else affected.

WS,
I didn't realise he was still ill bless him. The flu as well :-(. I'm heading in your direction tomorrow if you need a hand with anything. Just give me a shout if you do :-)

I had flu bug from christmas day, have never been so ill and eventually rang NHS direct who told me to ring my doctor. I rang the emergency number and was later told to go to the hospital at which point I told them I couldnt go into hospital as I had dogs and no one to look after them.
I now have inhalers and antibiotics and am slowly improving although my chest is still bad.
My poor dogs spent the week sleeping and wondering why I couldn't even speak to them. I have never been so ill and at one point didnt think I was going to make the new year.
My daughter has Swine flu and pneumonia
Sending my thoughts and best wishes, It's always hard when family are some distance, I'm sure her boyfriend is being a star and your daughter is very brave not to worry you, bless her.
I too have flu, luckily after Christmas, never felt so rough, I hope that everyone feeling unwell is better soon, especially your daughter Daisy.
I've a bad cold - can't call it flu although I am a bit chesty so will have to be aware - especially as I have heard this afternoon that 2 people in our small town have died since Christmas! One is mum to a 9 year old - tragic.

Ta Sue, hopefully he's on the mend now. At first I thought it was man-flu but it was pretty awful. Never in our married life have we still got Xmas cake, pud & mince pies still sitting there in January!

Daughter is feeling better, thankyou :) I think the 'flu' has gone, just the pneumonia to clear up, but it must be getting better as she spoke to my OH for 30 minutes today :) Previously she could barely get a word out :(
I hope everyone else who has the flu will be feeling better soon - flu is horrible :(

That's awful :( But knowing how bad my daughter was and she is normally very fit, I can well imagine how bad it is for those who have some health issues anyway :( Did this girl have any other health problems ?? It's so sad for her family :( :(

No she was a 'bright young thing'.
An animal lover who did a relevant degree at Uni, then went on to be an animal trainer, she had worked on the the last Harry Potter movie amongst others.
