OK, my lil Aussie bitch came into her first heat on December 8th. As of yesterday there is no more bleeding and she seems a little less swollen though not much. She has been kept inside the house only taken out for walks and to sit in the barn during chores. Always under my personal supervision (except two days when xmas shopping, then left with my mother) so I know she has not been bred! Is it safe for her to go out to run with the boys yet? Was thinking myself that to be on the safe side I would keep her in until January 8th. Is this being paranoid or is it perhaps for the best? Them boys still seem pretty interested in her though not nearly as much and they have finally stopped camping outside the door all day and night. :D

Behold the power of women:D ;)

My bitch also came in on the 8th, which now makes her day 20. I was trying very hard to get her mated, but unfortunately her chosen mate is a maiden of four, and she is also a maiden bitch.

We have had a very frustrating week, and not got a mating, as the boys aim was at fault, and at first he was easily put off by any handling, and the bitch a mite too playful, and he too much of a gentleman!

He finally got the hang of it by yesterday, but sadly she has gone over!

I would keep her away from the boys another week, as even if she will no longer accept them they will most likely pester her, and could also fight among themselves over her.

Yes, keep her apart for at least another week. Hey QT isn't this mating business fun? I always hate the seperation part the most.
