Well i am not an avid tv watcher but i do like to settle down at christmas and watch a good film or two, but this year what a load of tripe ! , there have been 1 or 2 good things on but certainly does'nt justify the license fee , i have now gone back to reading a good book instead.

Yep I am with you tv was rubbish
The last thing I watched was The Apprentice final- that's how bad I think it's been!

I watched the 2 Narnia films (probably repeats) and struggled to find anything else of interest even with many sky channels. I did watch Grumpy Old Men last night (another repeat) but made me laugh.

I resorted to watching a few things I had saved on sky plus as did not have time to watch them earlier, but the TV "highspots" for me were the Strictly Christmas special, and High Society (which must be into the 100s for times re-run) which I love, but almost know by heart. I htink the worst Christmas for TV ever - alhtough I have saved Upstairs Downstairs, and Just William so don't know if these will raise the level.
I watched the first two episodes of 'Upstairs, Downstairs' and thought that it was really disappointing (I loved the original and 'Downton Abbey') so I don't know if I'll bother watching tonight's episode.

We only watched the Doctor Who Christmas special, which was fun and entertaining if not a classic episode.

Mrs Miracle has been on most channels.
I'm ill in bed and bored, nowt on tv to try and aid my recovery.
Not into Dr Who or this upstairs, downstairs business. The soaps have gone overboard too..
Even digital tv has gone down the pan :-(

The Royal Family!!
"Mary's in the Dyson!"
No one does Bathos and Pathos in comedy as good as them at Christmas :-D

Why would you vacuum Mary? Or is she a spider?

Mary's ashes! :) :)

I enjoyed Dr Who and Upstairs downstairs - nothing else has stuck out as being good really - though we did have a giggle at the new series from the little britain mob :-D

Still don't get it... **
Gone way over my little head

Well......the next door neighbour, Joe, brought the urn containing his wife Mary's ashes to the Royle's house. Needless to say, they ended up on the floor before being vacuumed up into the new Dyson that Barb had from Anthony for Christmas. :)

ooooooohhh... The Royale Family.... LOL... Don't watch it, but now I comprehend.. doh!!! Very slow on the uptake there.. ta x

The best thing watched was the top 100 childrens toys :)

Did "Mary" die for real? Wondered why she wasn't in it.
I didn't think that was as funny as when they were in the caravan, Jim was on the loo, no room to close the door, revealing his underpants on the floor. Say no more.
I think they pinched the urn idea from One Foot in the Grave. Neighbour hands Victor what he thinks is his mother's urn, (its really herbal tea), the phone rings, he drops it & has to vac it up. So he goes outside with paper and frying pan to set light & get more ashes. Then that night his wife gives him a cup of ash tea to help him sleep!

The Royle family had to be THE best episode ever -I've never laughed so much. My favourite bit was the rendition of "The boy does nothing".:)

Overall I think it's been rubbish but I have enjoyed the odd programme here and there, loved U/D and the Royle family I had a laugh watching the airport thing (Matt Lucas) as well.

OMG there is still nothing on, been watching re-runs of Friends instead to pass the evenings.. You'd of thought that with many people being in they could put on something good for us, they'd get some good ratings i'm sure..
> the airport thing (Matt Lucas)
This is the only bit of Christmas telly i got to watch and i thought it was very un-funny.
I can't believe my TV licence goes towards that rubbish - i want a refund !

Anybody watch Toast last night ? I thought it was brilliant, I even had a bit of a "greet " at the bit the young Nigel was dancing with his dead mum's dress, been the best on the box so far, although I'm looking forward to the thing about Morcombe and Wise tomorrow.
I watched Toast celli and thought it was fabulous. Excellent cast and I had a couple of little weeps too.
