my girl is on day 53 i still havnt felt any movement or seen any yet ,she is massive could this be why? she has put on 9kg she hasnt over ate at all ,ive normaly felt them by now, whats the longst any of your girls have gone before you 1st feel movement? plus does litter size have anything to do with feeling the movement?
thanks xx

I don't think I ever really see or feel movements with my girls, not until actual whelping.

My Girl is 55 days now, and I've been feeling strong movements for about two weeks now, they are so wriggly.
She was scanned and is having 4 puppies :) x

Maybe mine just have more room to move as there is just four! I am sure you will feel them soon enough, xx

I could barely feel my girl's puppies either time right up till birth. I could tell she could feel them because like you said, she would suddenly jump and look round as if something had jabbed her. I'm sure they're fine!

The day before whelping!

Don't worry white lilly (although I know you will)  :-)
If your girl is jumping, she isn't doing it for nothing!

I didn't feel puppies move in my own girly who gave birth to 6 and I checked, lots! Nor have I felt puppies move in the bitches beloning to my breeder mentor friend. I feel deprived :-(

don't worry they wriggle enough once born, LOL.  I have rarely if ever felt any movement.
- By Trialist Date 28.12.10 18:38 UTC
Yes, they do wriggle plenty once born, so maybe I shouldn't feel so deprived!! I wonder if you'll be feeling any internal wriggling with your well travelled girly?!!

Lordy I hope so  Have given things the best chance with matings over a five day period on alternate days.

Stud young, not quite 4 years old so in his prime,a dn bitch only on 4th season at 2 1/2 should have the least chance of her uterus being negatively affected from repeated hormone onslaught of too many seasons.

ive felt pups move today :) :)....brainless you and your girl went tho so much i have everything crossed for you and fingers crossed you will know soon ,will you scan this time after all youve been though? xx

After having to be sedated to have blood drawn for titre testing I doubt it.  She always acts as if the vet is trying to murder her if they start restraining.  I may give it a go as I won't be able to contain m,y curiosity, but if she gets stressy won't bother to push it.

why dont you get some1 to come to you ?

LOL, Elkhounds would be quite sure you were ganging up on them and lets face it they would be right.

You would be surprised how they can wriggle if they don't want something done, no panic or animosity but pure stubbornness.

Mind you she found the anal temperature taking for the retun vet health check less onerous than the one going out so who knows, she may be as co-operative as a lamb.

LOL o dear ....well lets hope she will let them then :) xx

In the event looks like we had a lot of luck even with the hairy journey home.

You have no idea what a panic I was in when we landed in Dublin, not on Pets route and carrier, not Cargo and 6 hours before her tick and tapes treatment was valid, fortunately we were not disembarked.
