Yesterday I noticed my girl was shivering/ shaking slightly and was wondering whether this is common as I didn't notice it with her last mating. She is still as daft as a brush and is sleeping/playing/eating/drinking and toileting normally and her temp has reamained between 79.9 and 80.2 for the last 2 days.
Hi I dont think its normal to be honest but I maybe wrong. Mine have never done it. You need to be cautious as they can get pre-eclapsia although I beleive its quite rare. Has she settled yet?
It is abit early for labour but they can shiver or shake with preeclampysia or masititis i think it's worth your while to pop her along to the vets if it persists, it's always better to be safe than sorry concerning our canine friends.
Thanks girls...She settled down that evening and I haven't seen her do it since. It was so mild shaking that you could only just see it. It was her front leg or her thigh and I think it was her lying on a nerve in her elbow or leg as she is finding it quite awkward getting on the dog settee now so has been lying on the floor. She is still as daft as a brush but is now starting to resemble a space-hopper!!!!
I noticed it early one morning and immediately took her temperature and then posted my thread the following day meaning it was the second day of temp taking.
