Having a bit of a fuzzy head these past few weeks i'm not sure if i've entered certain shows or not and can't find my chq book to locate the stubs..
Would the club secretary for these shows be able to say if i've entered and is it ok to call them to ask?
The last thing I want to do is turn up and find i've driven nearly 2hrs for nothing..

I usually get a few calls to ask have I entered or what have I entered and I don't mind at all, most show secs will know but some may not and you will have to phone the printer either way they should not mind under the circumstances.

So long as you don't leave it till the night before when they are busy I doubt they will mind. :-)

Yes agree Lucy Dogs, please avoid the eve of the show because we are either busy or in bed in anticipation (of the show that is, just to avoid misunderstanding)

Panic over!!! I've found the chq book and seen that my entry was sent off ok :-)

Glad you have found your cheque book but don't worry about phoning if you have a problem as most show secs. are happy to help, those who are not will not last long as you have to enjoy providing a good day for the exhibitors and if that means taking phone calls then so be it, mind you the calls do cause some amusement you could have no idea what some people ask you.

I've only encountered one secretary who has been really snarky both times I needed to phone - most unfortunately it was the same show, though different years, that I had a query. She's been around a LONG time and quite frankly the show is always utter chaos too. Most secretaries thankfully have been extremely helpful when I have a question.

I've been around a long time as well  but I consider the exhibitors my customers and would consider it my failure if I could not help, so I hope I don't do rude or snarky and from our feed back I don't think I do chaos either. Mind you I am beginning to think I can no longer keep all the balls in the air so am handing over to anyone who is prepared to take over.
