can some one tell me what colour this coat would eventually be on a german spitz puppy please
at the moment we can tell all the others are sables and parti colours but their is one puppy
they are only 4 weeks old at the moment and i know they change so much but we need to get
them registered,
his head has sable colouring the body is black but when you part the coat is silver underneath the black
the legs are black but  the inside of the legs are silver colour can anyone give me any advice on what they
think the colour might eventually be

Wolf sable???  Sorry not sure if that's a colour in your breed but it is in Poms.

Can you send me a pic please? sables change alot depending on which stage of coat growth they are at, which is why my litter was registered as sable & white. there is a list of colours on registration you need to choose from now (even though any colour is acceptable) the breed club are trying to rectify this.

The GSBOC also has a picture library of adult colours - Buffy the sable/white in my avatar has her own page on my website with her colour desribed as 'wolf sable' as a 12 week old pup she is very definately not Wolf sable now LOL wouldn't you agree Diane?

Wow, I didn't realise there were so many different colours allowed! Would be nice if they had links from the description straight to the colours.

Any colour is allowed at present, but they can be difficult to identify correctly before registration and of course everyone has a different description for the colour, check out the list here and the descriptions LOL

Causes some confusion/arguments I tell you.

Lusam Zeus is the one that I wd. say was a true wolf sable on there and I would think he would not of had as much cream on him as a pup.  Some of them I definitely would of said were orange, orange sables but not wolf.

omg, 145 different colours to choose from How on earth do you know which you have? Even dogs in the same colour band were so different.

I am so glad we have only black/white or black/roan to choose from ;-)

Most of the ones listed are mis-identified LOL, but as I say with a 4/6 wk old pup (esp sables) it isn't always easy.
