Anybody recommend socks to try and keep my feet warm, they are like ice blocks all the time, I do stand alot through the day while trimming dogs, which doesnt help!

I bought Ski socks for my son - they are lovely and long  :) - to put in his wellies as his feet were freezing.   Work a charm and easy to get.

I have Winter Hiking socks, they keep my feet lovely and warm too, but much thicker/more bulky :-D

Got both from the local outdoor/camping shop ;)  These places have specialist materials which help with keeping you warm :)

I would suggest two pairs are always warmer than one. If you wear ski or walking socks, wear a thin pair of cotton summer weight underneath. Works a treat!

Ditto two pairs a thin one next to your skin and a think insulated bottom pair. I wore those in -26 in Antartica and I was fine. Both from camping shops proper hiking socks and thinnwalking socks, its layers that keep you warm and when warm the thinner one wick the heat away so you dont then get clammy feet, that then freeze. A decent thick soled boot or shoe as well, may not look posh but toasty warm.

I must admit this year I have cut up some new, cheap vet bedding into insoles for my boots  ;-) I bought the vet bed for a litter that never happened so don't feel too bad about using it :-p

Porelle dry waterproof socks are the warmest socks in the world. Buy a size bigger than you usually wear as they are quite small made. You could stand in a puddle of freezing cold water and still have dry toasty warm feet :-)

I wear ordinary sock with Le Chameau bootie type sock inside my Le Chameau wellies, I never have cold feet since doing this. I have bad circulation and it was a painful nightmare befor I discovered Le Chameau. not cheap but it works.

As well as wearing socks, also get a nice thick pair of insoles. I didn't think it would make much difference. Oh how wrong I was!!!!! The first time i had them I was up on the moors mucking the horses out for hours and my feet were actually warmer than they were during the summer!!!!

My partner Eddie is a refrigeration engineer, he spends most of his day either in cold rooms and walk in freezers or on exposed roof tops where the gubbins of large cold rooms are sited, so he knows a thing or three about cold feet ! lol, I recently bought him socks called Heat Holders and he say's they've been brilliant at keeping his feet toastie, they're not expensive either, I think E Bay have them and the last time I was there, the Sock Shop had them on special offer.

I have a pair of Heat Holders and they're brilliant-when I'm out walking the dogs I put my Porelle Waterproof socks over the top as well for lovely warm feet.
