I have recently been told that giving peanut butter to puppies/dogs in bad for them, I stuff Charlie's Kong with crunched up biscuits and peanut butter.
Can anyone tell me if this true
Cheers
Daniel and Charlie
Only thing I can think of is, either it is because of the salt or because occasionally some people (dogs?) get very bad shock/allergy when eating peanurts.
Perhpas get an unsalted version from a health shop, or try cream cheese from a tube as a change sometimes? Dogs seem to like this very much.{Perhpas others will know more about it.

I don't know about the peanut butter, however if you haven't already tried you might like to consider the Kong Ball.
Gem loves her kong, but the ball is soooooo much longer lasting!
I experimanted with just 1 small kong chew in it, lasted her 20 minutes. This included a lot of travelling around with it in her mouth.
She can usually empty her Kong in less time!!!
As soon as she sees me touch the ball, she changes up a gear!
Sorry this has nothing to do with your question, but...........

Is the Kong Ball made of rubber or hard plastic? if its the plastic one that makes noises and you fill with treats, forget it, my dog demolished this ball in less than a week to get to the squeeky bits, and its a westie, must have thought it was a rat !!!!! If its rubber then I would be interested in getting one, my dogs love their kongs filled with food.
I don't know about the Kong Ball, but all the other Kong products are made of the heavy duty rubbery stuff.

The only thing I can think of is that some dogs can find the oiliness too rich for them, but I have LOTS of friends who do the peanut butter thing and have never had trouble. We don't tend to because our two can't stomach rich stuff so well, but I've not heard peanut butter being bad for dogs in general.

I raised this with my vet and he said, if he likes it and it doesn't make him ill, it won't do him any harm - but in moderation, like anything else. Dairylea is also a good bet.

It is a biscuit ball. It's made of heavy rubber, much the same as a Kong, and the chews / biscuits push into the bone shaped holes.
Being hollow and with 1 large hole in it, it also bounces in weird ways.
Someone recently suggested to me that I use a kong with peanut butter in it for teaching sendaways - but freeze it first

Sometimes my kongs are so stuffed with goodies I want to eat them myself :D
And can someone please tell me why when I stuff both my dog's kongs with exactly the same treats they always scramble to get to the other one's kong instead of their own
And another thing, what on earth is the fascination with stairs !! I've just moved house and we now have stairs, the dogs go to the top of the stairs and just look down at me wagging their tail, OR they take their toys upstairs and throw them down again, they do this over and over, are they just stupid

It's a pack superiority thing apparently. The top dog in the pack get the highest (and therefore driest) place to sit and sleep.
TH likes to lie on the turn of the landing with her head hanging down.
That is exactly what they do 9th. Except they both do it. I don't think I have a top dog, they both appear to be equals although if Harris steps out of line just that bit tooooo far Nell swears at him. LOL!

TH likes to stand at the top looking down her nose at everyone. Bless her, she's only little and it's the only chance she gets to look down her nose at people - except at the shoot where she can get snooty with the cockers.

If I have to give the dogs tablets (including wormers) I cover them in peanut butter and they're gone just like that. My two love it.
