i placed an order for dopram v yesterday and have just recieved this email from hyperdrug
Thank you for your order, apologies but we have just been informed there is a further delay with the Dopram. Unfortunately the item has failed the tests and has been recalled. They are re testing the product and if this goes through it should be with us in roughly 4 weeks. If the Dopram fails the tests again it may not be with us for another 8-10 weeks. Apologies for the inconvenience this has caused, please confirm how you wish to proceed?
Kind regards
Kristina

do you recon i'll be able to get my money back and buy this from somewhere else? it wont be any good to me in 4 weeks as the litter is due in 10 days
or is there anyone on here that has a bottle that i could possably buy off you?

Cancel your order and ask for a refund.
This is a prescription-only medication that cannot be sold by just anyone; used incorrectly it can have serious side-effects. Please don't ask people here to break to law by selling it to you.

oh im sorry i didnt realise it was prescription only as i didnt need a prescription to order it

You should have been asked for one;
the datasheet is quite clear that it's a POM.
That's news to me too - I have previously had some from them without a prescription from my vet!!
I ordered mine from Hyperdrug 5 weeks ago as my litter is due next week and today I actually cancelled the order with them. I didn't receive the same email as you though. Thankfully they didn't take the money from my card so no refund was needed. I was told that there was a shortage and they were due a delivery on Tuesday of this week but because of the snow the delivery couldn't get through. I have bought and used Dopram V on many litters and have never needed a prescription.

I don't think it will really stop people ordering it if its avaible to purchase it online, it's the same with many drugs like slimming tabs and that angel eye stuff and what not, there is always loopholes.

I think you will find that Dropram V is a POM-VPS and not a POM-V. It used to be a prescription only product but was down graded a few years ago now (can't remember when exactly). It is possible that the datasheet with the product is out of date (many are, they seem to have a reprint only when the product or usage instructions change).
Any POM-VPS can legally be prescribed & sold by vets, pharmacists & suitably qualified people. Hyperdrug are registered pharmacists.

My response was to another that has been deleted so the context of what i was referring to is not there now, i was replying to jeangenie who was saying it was perscription only, i was mearly pointing out you wont stop people ordering things even if they are POM if they can get their hands on it.

Yes, but unless anyone here is, it would be illegal for them to sell it to the OP.

"Yes, but unless anyone here is, it would be illegal for them to sell it to the OP."
Was just clarifying the point that the assertion that dopram v was a POM and therefore that Hyperdrug were acting inappropriately by supplying the product. Not suggesting that unqualified people should be supplying medications. :-)
I checked with Manor Pharmacy. they confirmed its non prescription and i could order it.
Does anybody know who is now stocking this , most that i have tried are still saying ' out of stock'.
