My Tchi a.k.a. Mr Beastly (9 1/2 year old borzoi) has had the most awful smelling wind the last week. I've often read posts complaining about their dogs smelling and felt a bit smug, I've never had this problem before and put it down to feeding reasonably good quality food. Tchi is on eukanuba, well soaked, with either naturediet, raw tripe or similar twice a day. He gets raw chicken wings, dried chicken fillets and pigs ears as treats - nothing new at all. Any ideas folks as to why he should suddenly start smelling? He's very well in himself, probably the healthiest and happiest he's ever been.

I think Jane that he just realised you were becoming too complacent and has decided to do something about it :-)

try giving her just the eukanuba if she is fine with that then continue adding the other food you give her....you may need to eliminate one.
One of my girls stomach became irritated on a food she has been on for years....change of food and she was fine within a couple of days.

Mine often get wiffy bums through scavenging horrible things out on walks or liver is another food that does it! I have a biscuit barrel full of charcoal biscuits at the ready !

Thanks both, he won't eat the eukanuba without meat but I will stick to naturediet for a fortnight and then try tripe for two weeks etc to try and elimainate one. He doesn't get a chance to scavenge Lucy as Tchi is always muzzled when out, I'll give the charcoal biscuits a try if they work?

Yes they do work !

On second thoughts he may just be trying to do his impression of a silken wind hound - probably thought one SWH is not enough :-)
