My 3 yr old girl is in season for the 2nd time since her pups were born in march and yet again she is is weeing in the house, not all the time. Tonight while she was eating her food she just stood and weed and last night aswell. Took her to the vet and he said all was fine, I just need to make sure shes eating and drinking plenty..which she is. No medication from the vets tho...any advice please?
Mine did this when she had cystitis. The vet gave some AB's. it took a while to convince her it was ok to go outside, had to walk down the street with her to get her to go. fine now, think she asociated the pain with going. They can be more at risk of bladder infection when is season.
Hope it helps. xx
I did think about cystitis, but vet says no..will take her back to vet tomorrow if no better, shes going out ok as we have a cat flap and the dogs go out when they need to.
Thanks for that tho:)

Can't understand why a vet would say she is fine when she is suffering from uncontrollable need to urinate, would take her back and ask them to look harder, did they take a urine and blood sample, if not ask for that as well. Hope she is better soon and you can relax again.
I have 2 bitches and both have accidents in the house when they are in season, which they don't otherwise. When I took my eldest bitch to the vet she checked her over said there was no infection. She asked me if I get belly ache or the urge to wee more often when on my period and she said its exactly the same in dogs????? Both are fine once the season stops, all my others have been dogs so when the vet told me that I assumed thats how bitches are. In fact my youngest has just come into season so the rug has been taken up as everywhere else is slate flooring and mopable :)
I did take a sample of her urine (that was fun) and he did a dip test. Definitly going back tomorrow tho.

i also find my girls can get dirty around season time sometimes they've even peed on their beds, i put it down to them letting others know theyre about lol.
Good luck today at the vets. Wonder if Rasperry leaf might help, to ease possible womb contractions. I always say they need a waterbottle and a paroceatomol.
Hello, went to vets..he doesnt think its cystitis but has given her some antibots, just incase..just have to keep an eye on her and take her back ina few days if shes no better. She seems very happy in herself and at present is trying to get the older girl out of the way of the warmest spot in front of the fire.
The other thing I meant to mention is that her coat has been falling out, it started just after the pups were born in march and is still falling out now...shes got a rats tail and baldish chest and tummy, the hair on her back is coming out thick and fast. My vet suggested getting her spayed as she had too many hormones surging. Shes on Pedigree dry food, I used to feed Wainwrights and JWB but they wont touch it now, I was wondering if food might have something to do with it. Its a nightmare at the moment.

I have a girl here who is dirty BUT only when in season she will pee wherever she stands!!! As soon as her season is over she goes back to being clean.
The other girls are all clean although in the past I had a rotti bitch who if she got the chance would go to my sisters room and pee on her bed when in season lol. Funny she never ever did it to mine.
My bitch looses her hair every time she comes into season and she is long haired it takes about a month and she is left with a bushy tail and head. It is 1 of the signs i use to know she is due in season. Although after i bred her she lost all fur, her tail was pathetic looked like a wolf hounds tail on a bernard. The vet and breeders said it was natural. I did have tests done on her regarding loss of hair and seasons and nothng was out the ordinary, their hormones change when they are in seasons and that is the reason the vet gave me for hair loss. He did say i could have her spayed as i was sick of the hair and cleaning up constantly but the problems she could have with being spayed out ruled my me having to hoover 4 times aday twice a year. Is she well in herself ?? if so i would leave be. I think you'll find she'll stop her weeing once her season finishes.
Fingers crossed..all day and no wees on floor, so hopefully all ok.
Hair just the main concern now. Im looking to change food possibly, I read somewhere that Wafcol is meant to be good for hair loss.
Will have to look into it a bit more before I do change.
one of my girls are in season and my goodness her hair is everywere!! im brushing her everyday and the brush is full with every stroke, her sister is in whelp and she isnt looseing any LOL
i have two bitches that are dirty for two days when they are in season the first two days of the season i think, not really noticed just cleaned it up
but on the hair falling out my spitz bitch went in one week from full coat to nothing you could see the skin on her chest, no feathers on her legs, no coat at all on her back, she is due in season any time , her coat dropped out over three weeks ago and just started to come back in
Coat has stopped falling out now...hopefully that will be it now. She has never lost her coat whilst in season before tho. Very strange.

Time of the year as well for losing the coat in some spitz breeds. More than likely it is a coincidence.
