A friend told me today that her brother had bought a puppy....very rare....from Sheffield...a "Belgian Bulldog". I laughed & said a what???? I assured her it was either a french Bulldog (which fitted the description) or he had been "had"!!!
Got home & had a paranoia attack....what if it really is some obscure continental breed? Did a Google search but no joy! So unless someone can put me right.....I will try & get a look at the papers (apparently its registered somewhere!) and find out some more. Are there any dodgy FB breeders in Sheffield?

Sam - either they are being had or they have a bulldog from a strain imported from belgium, there are Bullbastic Bulldogs from Belgium, maybe its a litter from one of their imports???? Maybe someone else with more knowledge than little old ignoramous me, will have more info for you though!!:D I haven't heard of them either but that doesn't mean they don't exist!!! Julie:)

If it looks like a French Bulldog, it's possible that the dog's lineage originated in Belgium from the French speaking provinces (instead of the Walloon regions).

---of course, when I now hear a claim of a "very rare" breed/strain/type, I"ve become extremely suspicious of the breeder or their education, since sometimes they do mean well, but have loads of inaccuracies in their past experiences. :( :(

Exactly Sara....when a novice pet-dog owner mentions the words "very rare" it usually means they have been conned in some way...and its cost an arm and a leg too!!!!!!:(

sorry i am getting into the xmas spirit (litteraly ) i'm cooking a xmas dinner for 8 a day early the kids are driving me mad !!
we took our dog out for a walk to blow of some steam & the kids needed a bath after as they decided to go running through ALL the puddles on the old dirt track we went down :( well they haad fun so i have hit the alchol now we are back lol :) and now i'm rambling & i cant seem to spell to well now :)
