Hi
We've just signed up with Granton Direct Ltd Petcare (01206 577770) . The cost is £11.50 per month for the whole of the dog's life, even if the dog develops an ongoing illness the cost of the insurance doesn't go up. It covers vet bills up to £4000. There's £50 excess which is all we would have to pay, they pay the vet direct for the rest.
At the moment we have the Asda pet insurance (£9.75 p/mth) which is cheaper, but will increase each year which is why this Granton Direct one seems quite good.
The max. age for signing up on the Granton insurance is 11 yrs for a dog. They also insure cats but not sure what the max. age is as we don't have a cat.
Out of curiosity, has anyone else heard of this Granton Direct, and if so, are they recommended? We just signed up with them on Saturday (door salesman round the house).
Just want to make sure we're doing the right thing.
We have our 6 dogs insured through Healthy Pets and costs me £57pm which I consider to be quite reasonable. We were insured with Sainsburys but the premimum kept rising and was nearly £13 per dog.
Never heard of Granton Direct.....I would never buy off the doorstep without checking the company first and would ask that they return at a later date....your brave:D

I agree ...I did a web search on Granton Direct Ltd Petcare and there were no results. I also did a search on Granton Direct and THEY are a promotions company.

Thanks Melody
We do have the option to cancel the direct debit etc once the paperwork comes through. The guy gave us a brochure to look at which did have some detail, but I will most definitely read the small print on the paperwork when it arrives. They actually signed up alot of people in our road, so if I find they look a bit dodgy then I'll speak to the others and let them know, it's up to them then if they want to cancel or not.
If they do seem dodgy then I shall be sticking with Asda (haven't cancelled the DD yet, just in case).
Anyway, HAVE A GREAT CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone.
Take Care
Lisa xxxx

As long as you have the option to cancel then thats okay :) They may , of course , be a great company with excellent benefits ..as long as you can check before commiting then I would be happy
:D
