Topic Dog Boards / General / Pup chewing wood

I have an 8 month old Goldie, she keeps chewing wood from the door frames, skirting boards to the fence posts in the garden. My husband has just replaced the skirting boards and the 2 door frames that she chewed about 3 months ago. Got up this morning and she must of been up all night destroying them again.
She's not on her own ever, she sleeps down stairs with my 3 other goldies, they have kongs, nylon bones other toys, raw meaty bones in the morning, none of my others have ever chewed and she never chews anything else other than wood.

Does anyone have any ideas why she does it or anything I could put on it that would stop her from chewing it, she gets told NO when I catch her doing it and I give one of her toys to chew or a bone but she keeps going back to chewing the wood.

Please help before my husband leaves me.

bitter apple anti chew spray works on some dogs. worked on my last weimaraner when she went through chewing stage. sprayed everything in sight with it. repeatably for a few weeks and it broke the habbit.
my current weimaraner alas does not mind the spray!!!  thankfully she is less chew inclined then the last one though

My step mums old golden retriever George ate his way through a table, 6 chairs and huge amounts of skirting board before he decided he'd had enough at about 2 years old. The bitter sprays from the pet shop did nothing to deter George but it worked well for my lurcher when he was a pup so its worth giving it a try.
Weird how she wont play with a kong or a bone.

Could you not crate her during the night and when leaving her for periods of time? our old dog was a complete nightmare nothing was safe window ledges, skirting boards, sofa's, lino the list was endless. We tried everything bitter apple, vicks, soap etc
Unfortunately i allowed her upstairs to sleep and that cured it but i suffered her then for 8yrs in my bed til she died :(
