my medium size bitch is 6 weeks and 2 days pregnant and is looking huge, could this be a sign that she could be carrying alot of pups? her belly has really dropped and her back looks to be bowing down with the weight.

It may just mean she is carrying a lot of fluid rather than puppies, but they do rapidly change shape from 6 weeks.

she started showing at 4 weeks if that makes any different?

i had a girl show early she was med breed (working) she had 13 :o

is it your girls 1st litter?
i have a girl that could be 3 weeks gone and ive notist she has changed shape or could i be imagening it? her ribs look like there bigger and shes not eatting all her food now (shes food mad) so she not over eating at all! x plus this will be her 1st litter

no this is her second litter, first litter she had 6 live an 1 still born pup

I don't expect my toy breed to show until the last minute.  This year I had one with a swinging belly by the time she was 5 weeks, and it is definitely not normal.  Normal size of litter is 1-3 pups. 

She had 5!!  I almost had a seizure!! 

Sometimes with 2nd litters they tend to look bigger earlier, but still go on to have the same number of pups or less.  One of my girls looked average size and went on to have 9, now that was a major shock....lol.

My girl who was due on Sunday was massive at 6 weeks but now is almost flat, although her ribcage is enormous still.  Sadly she was scanned and there's nothing there at 34 days.

Just wanted to say that my bitch is the same.  She is now 6wks3 days and is huge.  He last litter she had 5 lovely sized pups so I am hoping that it's just fluid and because it's her second that is making her look so big.  She is so massive that she is finding it really hard to clean herself and she is such a particulary bitch for that too.  She too has been showing since 4 weeks because that is when I opened my list for prospective buyers!!  I will be a bit sad if she has loads more than the last time as I thought that number was perfect!  And I only have 4 homes so far and thought the 5th could quietly sneak into my pack!!lol but I may need to be keeping more than one. hehe. That would be awful!!NOT.
