Saw a cheap digital one in Tesco the other day, designed for children, can be used rectally. Looked a lot more comfortable than the old-fashioned mercury ones vets used to use!

Have a digital one from Superdrug it is flexible so if the dog is moving it bends and does not come out of place. Very quick to read temp as well. Was about £10.

Digital  makes it easy to read.  Most supermarkets sell them now quite cheap.
