Hi I have done loads of research on the net, I have the book of the bitch and alot of breed books too to help me prepare for the up and coming whelp.
My bitch has become pregnant and her temp until yesterday was at a reccurrent 38.2'c - 38.4, yesterday it dropped to 37.3 then went up to 37.9 in the evening. today it was back down to 37.4, (im only taking it 2 aday because she does not like it at all), at 8.30pm tonight her temp is way down at 36.8 (approx 98.2 f).
By breeders experinces is this a definate labour will be within 24 hours? shes eating and drinking "normally".
Also anyone who can offer advice Im happy to accept it, as i sadi its my first time and although im excited Im nervous too! :D

Sounds like it could be, how many days in is she?

assuming she caught the 1st day of breeding friday will be 63 days! oh and shes a small breed pure bred dog
could well be she will start within 24th or there abouts ,small breeds dont tend to go to 63 days anyway and she is at the right time now so stay close to her and good luck!

Sounds like it's near. I always ring my vet and let him know when labour starts that way he knows he may be needed.
I also have a small to breed- Don't be scared to help the bitch if she doesn't tear sacks off(mine didn't and it needs to be done quickly) Also keep an eye for uterine inertia (The bitch may look as if she is not pushing or pushing weakly- this can be common in small breeds)
I hope all goes well for you

My small breed dog went into labour at 58 days, it was her first litter so i was prepared for emergency c-sections etc. She coped very well giving birth but i had to open the sacs and rub the puppies. After that Megan took care of them like a real good mummy. Just stay calm and have a spare pair of hands to assist you. I'm sure it will all go brilliantly. Good luck and keep us posted.

ihi, weel she hasnt had any pups yet and her tempreture this morning was up to 37.7.
Shes probably not ready! We have a 24 hour emergency service vet who is 10 minutes by car, and we were told that call and come straight up there is any problems, they can prepare then if thers any need!
I am hoping shell do it alone (not because im worried about her but I want everything to be as natural as possible!)

It tends to wave a little near the end but I find most go below or if nto below very close to the 36.
