Do you feed raw by any chance?  If so, one option is to buy a turkey from the butcher and get him to do the work for you.  You can have the crown and your dogs can have the rest!

You ought to be able to order the size you want from most butchers if you order soon enough - although if you want a 13lb crown then it needs to be a pretty big bird :)

I would love to have the legs that come off these as I hate the breast meat, on a turkey especially, passable on chicken.

I've previously ordered these for many years from M&S, always been happy with the quality. Last year I ordered from my local butcher as he had been particularly good throughout the year saving me stuff for the dogs - still good but it was more expensive.

We have a turkey crown every year as no one is our house likes the legs.

but can you get a crown of 4 or 5 kg? frozen only seem to be 2.8kg max- not big enough for my crowd

My dad has a catering business and we are about to start on our christmas nights.  These are 'high end' christmas nights so we usually have 'proper' turkey but this year they were just so expensive that we have had to buy turkey crowns instead.  You seriously wouldn't notice the difference at all.  I would go for the crown as they are much easier to cook and don't take as much time/preperation for the same outcome.
