I used to run my own small rescue and re-homing/advice service, local to my town ( until the purse strings broke ! ), I also did fostering after that for a reg. charity...I'm thinking of doing it again - I'm here all day - don't have acres and acres, but have greenbelt land through a gate just accross my cul-de-sac...about 100 ft away ! I'm thinking of offering fostering services again....anyone know of rescue groups who could use a foster home?

I think most breed resuces would rather the dogs be fostered than put into kennels as a home environment is where they have come from and more than likely where they will go. Have you considered puppy walking for one of the assistance dog cjharities?

The trouble with this is I have 3 dogs of my own and assistance puppies are better put in foster homes where there are no other dogs ( or maybe just one ), otherwise they just resort to pack behaviour, instead of bonding more to humans.

Hi, Would the rescue/fostered dog be in with the other dogs or in a kennel? I would be interested in using you if the circumstances are right... I rehome weimaraners. We are sometimes desperate for a foster home for dogs. Where abouts are you?

Kind regards
Lynn

Oh the dogs aren't kennelled - I never did kennel my rescues - although I have a ' kennel ' in my garage where the dogs go when visitors etc come. I have a GSD, collie and st wire dax...I train dogs too, ( used to compete but not anymore )

I'm in Worcestershire.

I've had loads of experience. I don't have loads of space at all, we live in an ordinary detached house - to me this just makes my job a bit more akward that's all ! ( logistical nightmare with wet paws, that kind of thing ! ) - we have greenbelt land a few feet away, accross the cul-de-sac , where the dogs get good exercise several times per day.

I'm used to dealing with home-checks and people checks too !

Actually, think I've ' spoken ' to you before on dog chat or something - aren't you in the North - I was the person who was going past on my way up to Hull to look at GSD puppies ( which turned out to be living in the most awful conditions , bred by someone fairly well known in the breed ! )

O, I remember now !

The dog chat that you refer to was Champdogs Chat Room and Pad and I remember you well norm ! We always found your contribution to the subjects that we discussed *memorable* to say the least.
