i'm just being nosey to be honest as met my first deerhound a while back and got rather interested in that breed since with a bit of an eye to future(long range future!).  it says mum is a v11 carrier. maybe it is Von Willebrand?  not inclined to bother the breeder as I'm not a prospective owner for probably years but interested to know more

Factor V11 deficiency has been found in several breeds. Most commonly in the Beagle and Deerhound. It's not as serious as vWD. The Deerhound people have got together to test and eradicate it before it became a serious problem in their breed.

If Carrier animals were not bred from then the gene pool would become too small. Carriers should be bred to Clear partners, the progeny tested and buyers informed of the status of their puppy. By following this procedure the disease could be eradicated in a few generations.

The link to the actual Veterinary article "Inherited Factor V11 Deficiency in the Deerhound" seems to be faulty
and can't be posted here but the article can be accessed from the Deerhound Club website Health Matters page.
