
Really an MRI scan, unless you are checking for Syringomyelia, will not tell you anything useful. It might tell you the cause of the epilepsy, it might not ,but even if it does, it's not going to help when treating the dog.
I have had two epileptic dogs- the first was a Cavalier and a puppy -she developed it as a direct result of having had distemper. The second is a Golden Retriever, cause unknown. The Cavalier was not treated with medication, and she died of a massive fit on her first birthday. The Golden has been on medication for several years now, he is 7 and doing GREAT. So I know what option I prefer -there are no perfect solutions. I would not trust homeopathic remedies for something so important.
