wasnt sure if to put this here but it is to do with breeding so here goes!
1 of my girls dont like fireworks ,the others arnt that botherd ,she dont cry or go mad running round or anything like that! she just sits by our side and dont move its never been much of a problem till now!!!
she was mated on the 5th nov and the following 3days after, since the 5th she not go out at night and its getting dark so early now ,shes only on day 8 if shes having pups, i dont want to stress her out by makeing her ,last year she wasnt like this at all so im wondering could this be down to hormones?we are still getting fireworks going off some nights  so shes weeing and pooing in the night i dont care about this 1 bit it gets cleaned up ,weve even been coming down at 3 in the morning to let her out but she still not go ,she thinks its dark so firworks will go off im sure, so what im asking is could this behaviour be down to hormones and could she go back to her normal self ?

As you know my girl is pregnant so at fireworks time she would have been just under 3 weeks.  She was petrified this year hiding under the computer table.  Last year and every year since she was born she has never bothered so we were very surprised to see her act like this.  We had to go out to a firework display with our boys so we locked her in the bedroom and put the tv on loud to try and drain out the noise. x

We didnt go to any fireworks display as I would not leave my girl incase she had a bad reaction (she was mated 2 weeks prior), kids moaned for a bit but soon got over it.

i didnt go out ,i let hubby take the kids to his mums ;) i stayed here with my dogs nice and warm LOL

Just tried to get her out again with a bit of pizza and she still wouldnt go :( got her as far as the back door and that was it ,got a feeling i will be getting up to a sticky in the morning AGAIN! ,not sure what to do? i feed her about 8 and nornaly about 6 but been giving it her early 3ish to see if she will poo before it gets dark ,but she not, so maybe i will feed her last thing at night before we go to bed 11ish but she will think im starving her lol shes eating so well too (only giving her her normal amount) xx

I think she'll be ok for the pregnancy taking.  As for getting her outside, I had a similar problem with my girls not going out.  The oldest one weed in front of us at teatime on the Sunday.  There was no indication that she wanted to go out.  I walked them round the block first thing for them to go; worked a treat and no hesitation to go out.  now they're going out in the garden like they did before.

It might be worth giving it a try if you have time in the morning.  I've only walked them just down the road before until the had a pee.  They never clicked that once the deed was done we turned and went back lol.

I no its not the weather for it, but i have to do it every year after fireworks night with 1 of mine. If she feels safe around you then go and sit in the garden with her just as its getting dusk and stay out there playing and fussing her till it gets dark and she realises its safe again.  Some years i only have to do it the once this year was 2 nights running but he soon realises nothing is going to hurt him.  Its worth i try and if she loves her food try feeding her out there at the same time. good luck :)

hi reikiangel :) shes fine in the daytime its when it starts to get dark :( ,but will see if i get her lead out she goes mad to go a walk :) thanks xx

hi orangedog :) ive tried to get her outside with food and ive sat outside the back door where she can see the others having a fuss but she still not go out :( ,will try and see if she will go on a small walk in the evening ,if that dont work them i will have to keep cleaning up after her till she stops doing it and goes back out :( ,thanks xx

Hi Whitelilly have you managed to get your girl out in the dark or are you still doing the morning mop up ?

no shes going out now :-) a very quick in and out LOL but at least no more mopping up ;)
