when a girl has a split season the only way to know if she is ovulating is to progesterone test her ,thats what ive been told? im abit confussed tho LOL do you mean she came back in in sept? because we not in dec yet so you dont know if she will come inagain at that time? xx

One of my girls has split seasons, and never seems attractive to my stud boys (and if they won't waste their time, it has to tell me something!)  I use the one as an indicator for me when I have booked a stud that is quite some distance away, and he gets it right, telling me that the bitch is ready.

Tonight I have taken this bitch for her booster and had her examined, and discussed the problem.  I have never had a litter from her, and need to make a decision.  As her seasons seem so very short, my vet has told me to take her in as soon as she swells next time.  He will only charge me one consultation fee, and after that, just the charge of the test kit, for however many she needs.  He said to give him 2 hours notice as it needs to be taken out of the fridge.

So if you are having problems, I guess the progesterone test is the way forward.  Not something I have ever bothered with before.  (I'm going to try it anyway!)  :-)

Well, not me personally.  :-)
