Topic Dog Boards / Visitors Questions / One Bed or Two?

I will be picking up my two Cocker Spaniel puppies soon - both girls. When they are both so small and young I had planned to keep them in the same basket as I assume they would probably find this qiute comforting, especially when they first arrive in the house, however, I wonder if I should continue with this, ie., buying larger baskets as they grow, to share together or do you think that as they become adults they would prefer their own beds? Any help would be appreciated. I used to have two Cocker Spaniels but as they were different in age they always had their own beds.

I think they'll probably like to share, mine do and they have 10 months between them, let them lead the way and see what they want. Cockers are very sociable generally, but then there are always exceptions.

Good luck in having two pup's at the same time.

Hi Elaine

Some of our Cockers like their own space & some like to share - it amazes me how 3 will try & squeeze into the same smallish bed together but they seem quite comfortable :-) Being the same age, your two pups will probably like to share to begin with but I think 2 beds would be a good idea when they are older so that they can choose whether to cuddle up together or not.

Like Pam, I wish you the best of luck taking on two pups together - double trouble :-)
