Anyone know of any mobile scanners in the Cleveland/Teesside area. Used a vet last time and the quality of the scan was terrible with no sound and couldn't even see a pup (just a white dot here and there- which the vet could see but we couldn't!). Been told that we would be better off finding a sheep or pig farmer and getting a scan done by the person they use to scan their livestock, but we've been unable to find any...
So if anyone is aware of any scanners in our area or that are close by and able to travel, any info would be appreciated.
Many thanks,
Stu
not to sure if fit and fertile are close to you? he does home scanning and is very good hes in Preston, not sure if thats anywhere near you lol all i know hes up from me and you are too :P my geography is rubbish :(
thanks for getting back to us. unfortunately we are on the opposite side of the yorkshire dales, so i'm guessing either it would be difficult for him to travel that far, or it would be very costly. that's been my exact problem - i can find lots down south and up in scotland, but none in the North-East... :(
have you rung around different vets ? you can go to any vets for a scan ,not all are rubbish just most :( sorry i carnt help! good luck in finding one tho.

Hi sorry I cant help you how did you find the numbers for the ones in scotland?
Tracy
Tracy, i cant remember how i found them exactly. I was just putting different things into google and found one in fife. also a friend of ours near edinburgh knows a pig farmer who has his own. our problem is that the area is so built-up that farmers are few and far between... :(

Had our bitches scanned at Cestria Vet s at Chester le Street. Have scan sessions each day at 2.30. We had brilliant scans saw pups clearly and they use two different head for better assessment. Not expensive either approx £25

I just had my girl scanned on Monday and it cost £32. My vets don't have a consultation fee thankfully.

No consultation fee to pay at Cestria either

Hi, the Dogue breeders who have the affix Bobiso, and who are in Guisborough have a scanner and may help.

Wilsons at Bishop Auckland are excellent - cost about £30 for the scan. They like them at about 4 weeks. Penny
